What’s new in Contact Lenses!

Purevision 2 High Definition: This is a brand-new soft disposable contact that is replaced monthly. The edges have been made thinner for better comfort and less awareness that you have the contact in. This is also a very breathable contact, which means it is approved for overnight wear. It is good for people that have problems with glare at night with other contact lenses, or who have small amounts of astigmatism in their prescription.
Acuvue Tru Eye: This is a daily disposable contact lens, which means that it is thrown away daily and not slept in. It’s great for patients who only want to wear contacts occasionally, or for teenagers who do not want the hassle of keeping their contacts clean. This lens also has the highest level of UV protection, although this is not a substitute for wearing sunglasses.
Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism: For patients who experience dry eyes and have astigmatism, this lens is usually a good choice. They are approved for overnight wear like the Air Optix for Astigmatism, but are replaced every two weeks. Acuvue Oasys provides excellent hydration for the wearer’s eye.
Air Optix Aqua Multi-Focals: These are contact lenses for patients who need bifocal or progressive glasses. They have zones of near and distance power in rings within the contact lens. It does take some adjustment for the patient to get comfortable with looking through these different zones, but unlike progressive glasses, you do not have to move you head to see out of the right zone. The contact is made to move and adjust on your eye.
Air Optix for Astigmatism: These contact lenses are made of the same Air Optix Aqua material but are for patients who have astigmatism, a condition where images are out of focus due to an irregular shape of the eye. They are monthly replacement and are approved for overnight wear.
