Contact Lens Mythbuster: Fact or Fiction?

  1. Is it true that a contact lens can get lost behind the eye?
    Fiction – Actually, this is nothing but myth. It is physically impossible for a contact lens, such as Acuvue 2 or Acuvue Oasys, to get lost behind the human eye. There is a thin membrane which attaches to the inside of your eyelids which prevents the contact from moving from the front surface of the eye.
  2. Is it true that some contacts cannot even be felt while wearing them?
    Fact – Depending on the brand you get contact lenses can be comfortable! The competitive free market has spurred innovation in our industry time and again. Contact lenses now have a high oxygen permeability. Our eyes are now able to breathe even with contacts lenses. The materials have become softer and hydration has become better than ever.   3. Can contact lenses get stuck to the eye?
